about

The two singles were composed for an English class in Tony's senior year of high school.

"joy grieves" tells the story of Hamlet--the titular character of Shakespeare's tragedy.

"Individual(Indivisible)" focuses on the unique, individual experiences that every human has. The fact that these experiences are unique and different from everyone else can be isolating as one is alone in holding and understanding them as perfectly as possible. As a result, people are drawn to each other, forming social bonds in hopes that they will be able to share their experiences and learn of the experiences of others.

The album includes alternate "stripped down" versions of each song.

Track Name: joy grieves
So we sailed across the sea
To fix what's wrong with me
And heads will roll when they find out
I'm mad to some degree

I guess I'm just too smart
Common things just fall apart
For all that's left is a ghost of you
And a hole inside my heart

"For age with stealing steps/Hath clawed me with his crutch/And lusty life away she leaps/As there had been none such"
"For beauty with her band/These crooked cares hath wrought/ And shipped me into the land/From whence I first was brought"

I'll shout and moan and weep
With words like steel to cut you deep
In death we may find peace
So sing my life to sleep

Back to where it began
Pick your poison, make amends
Dug your grave now lie in it
No cheating this old friend

"For age with stealing steps/Hath clawed me with his crutch/And lusty life away she leaps/As there had been none such"
"For beauty with her band/These crooked cares hath wrought/ And shipped me into the land/From whence I first was brought"

A picture of Hamlet Black, listening to Hamlisch before hitting the sack. I'm the prince of the Danes, a lion with no mane, and my therapist says I'm certifiably insane. O' failure is the name of the game I cam to see and conquer. I drive the ladies bonkers. I'm a brash assassin, exuding passion in elegant fashion, concocting plots that are quite smashing. But I fear voids and ends that stare back like old friends. I use revenge as means to mend the mistakes of men.

So sing my life to sleep

"To be or not to be--that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them...."
Track Name: Individual(Indivisible)
An ant on a leaf, a dove on a breeze
All wanting for something
We roam the land, with our own two hands
Altogether wandering
How do we look to the men of the moon?
And how do they look to you?
Why do I yearn for the feel of your kiss?
And why do you fear this abyss?

I want to know what you know, get to know how to know you
You say you want to learn, c'mon baby I'll show you

How can you be so close, yet feel like a star in the night?
We stare at the same sky, but the forms in the clouds aren't alike
If we're just two passing ships, I'm gonna jump overboard
Time is essential, I'll find the potential that you hide

I want to know what you know, get to know how to know you
You say you want to learn, c'mon baby I'll show you

[CLIP FROM "PARASYTE: THE MAXIM"]

「おれたちはみんなここで生まれて。このちっぽけなてんでのりかいを繰り返しつみかさねていく。何かに寄り添いやがて命が終わるまで。」

"We are all born her on Earth. We try to keep understanding each other along these tiny points until they accumulate. We try to get closer to someone else until our lives someday end."
